Every adult knows that trying to understand and simplify life can feel like an impossible task.
But sometimes, it becomes much more entertaining when you add a little humor.
After all, adulthood often means paying bills, going to work, making important decisions, and pretending you know exactly what you’re doing.
As children, we couldn’t wait to become adults.
We imagined freedom, money, and doing whatever we wanted.
Then adulthood arrived.
Suddenly, freedom meant choosing which bills to pay first.
Money disappeared faster than expected.
And “doing whatever you want” somehow became “doing laundry because you have no clean clothes.”
One day, a young man complained to his father,
“Dad, being an adult is exhausting!”
His father smiled.
“Son, that’s because you’re doing it wrong.”
“How should I do it?”
The father thought for a moment.
“I’m not sure. I’ve been an adult for thirty years and I’m still waiting for the instructions.”
The son laughed.
“So nobody actually knows what they’re doing?”
“Exactly,” his father replied.
“We’re all just pretending until bedtime.”
The son smiled.
For the first time, adulthood didn’t seem quite so frightening.
Maybe growing up wasn’t about having all the answers.
Maybe it was simply about learning to laugh when you didn’t.
