A father was walking past his son’s bedroom when he noticed something unusual.
The bed was perfectly made, the clothes were neatly folded, and the room was completely clean.
Then he saw an envelope sitting prominently on the pillow.
It was addressed to him.
His hands began to tremble as he opened it.
The letter said:
“Dear Dad,
I know you’re going to be upset, but I had to leave. I’ve made some decisions that you may not understand.
Please don’t worry about me. I’ll be okay.
Love,
Your son.”
The father sat on the bed, shocked.
Then he noticed another envelope underneath the first one.
It read:
“Dad, please read this one before you panic.”
He opened it.
“April Fools!”
The father stared at the letter for a moment.
Then he looked around the perfectly clean room.
His son suddenly appeared in the doorway, laughing.
“Got you!”
The father shook his head and smiled.
“You’re lucky your room is finally clean.”
His son laughed.
“So you’re not angry?”
“Not anymore,” his father replied.
“But tomorrow, you’re cleaning the whole house.”
The son immediately stopped laughing.
“I knew there had to be a catch!”
