A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher explained that it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because, even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was far too small.
The little girl disagreed.
“But my Bible says that Jonah was swallowed by a whale,” she said.
“That is impossible,” replied the teacher. “A whale simply cannot swallow a human.”
The little girl became upset.
“Well, when I get to Heaven, I’m going to ask Jonah!”
The teacher smiled.
“And what if Jonah isn’t in Heaven?”
The little girl thought for a moment.
“Then you can ask him.”
