It was an incredibly hot day, and a lion was feeling very hungry.
He left his den and searched everywhere for food. After walking for hours, he finally found a small hare.
The lion caught the hare, but before he could eat it, he noticed a deer drinking water nearby.
“A deer would make a much better meal,” he thought.
He dropped the hare and ran after the deer.
The deer heard the lion coming and quickly disappeared into the forest.
The lion returned to where he had left the hare.
But the hare was gone.
The lion looked around in frustration.
“I lost both my meals!”
A clever fox watching from behind a bush laughed.
“Why did you abandon something you already had?”
The lion sighed.
“I wanted something bigger.”
The fox smiled.
“Sometimes, being too greedy makes you lose what you already have.”
The lion nodded sadly.
From that day on, whenever he caught food, he learned to appreciate what was in front of him instead of risking everything for something bigger.
Moral: Don’t let greed make you lose what you already have.
