Two men had spent years trying to create convincing fake banknotes.
One evening, they were sorting through a pile of rejected notes when one of them suddenly found something unusual.
“Look at this!” he shouted.
His partner came running over.
“What is it?”
The man held up a note proudly.
“I think we’ve finally made a perfect one!”
His partner examined it carefully.
“It looks real.”
They smiled at each other.
Then the first man turned the note over.
His smile disappeared.
“What happened?”
“There’s a problem.”
“What problem?”
He pointed at the note.
“We accidentally printed the same serial number twice.”
His partner stared at it for a moment.
“That’s not the worst part.”
“What is?”
He pointed to the denomination.
“We were trying to make a €50 note.”
His partner looked confused.
“Then why does it say €500?”
The two men stared at each other in silence.
Finally, one of them sighed.
“Maybe we should find an honest job.”
The other nodded.
“Probably safer—and much less confusing.”
