Two elderly people lived in a mobile home park in Florida.
The man was a widower, and the woman was a widow. They had known each other for several years and had become good friends.
One evening, everyone gathered for a community dinner at the activity center.
After dinner, the man approached the woman and said,
“You know, we’ve been friends for a long time.”
The woman smiled.
“Yes, we have.”
“I’ve been thinking,” he continued. “Would you like to have dinner with me sometime?”
The woman laughed.
“We just had dinner together.”
“I mean dinner at my place,” he explained.
She smiled and agreed.
The next evening, they had a lovely dinner together.
Afterward, they sat on the porch, enjoying the warm evening air.
The man took her hand.
“I have something to ask you,” he said nervously.
The woman smiled.
“I think I know what it is.”
“You do?”
“Yes.”
He took a deep breath.
“Would you marry me?”
The woman smiled and said,
“Yes! Absolutely!”
They hugged and kissed.
The next morning, the woman suddenly called him.
“I have a question,” she said.
“What is it?”
“Did I say yes or no last night?”
The man laughed.
“You said yes!”
“Oh, good!” she replied.
“I knew I made the right decision. I just couldn’t remember it this morning!”
