Johnny’s Honest Answer

Little Johnny had a habit of disrupting his third-grade class with loud and unexpected noises. No matter how many times his teacher reminded him to behave, it kept happening.

One afternoon, she asked him to stay after school.

“Johnny,” she said kindly, “can you tell me why you keep doing this in class?”

Johnny looked down for a moment before answering.

“I’m not trying to be rude.”

The teacher waited patiently.

“My dad always says that if something is bothering you, it’s better to let it out than keep it inside.”

The teacher couldn’t help smiling.

“I don’t think he meant it quite like that,” she replied.

Johnny scratched his head.

“So… he wasn’t talking about my noisy classroom moments?”

The teacher laughed.

“No, Johnny. He meant your worries and your feelings.”

Johnny grinned.

“Oh! That makes a lot more sense.”

From then on, whenever something bothered him, Johnny raised his hand and talked about it instead.

The classroom became much quieter, and everyone—including Johnny—learned that good communication is much better than making a lot of noise.
