Three friends got married around the same time.
A few months later, they met for coffee and started talking about married life.
The first man smiled.
“My wife and I decided to share the housework. We made a simple schedule, and now everything gets done without stress.”
The second man nodded.
“We did something similar. I cook dinner a few nights a week, and she takes care of other chores. It’s a great team effort.”
The third man laughed.
“My wife and I have a different system.”
The other two looked at him curiously.
“Whoever notices that something needs to be done… does it.”
“So there’s no schedule?” one friend asked.
“Not really,” he replied. “Sometimes I do the dishes. Sometimes she does. Sometimes we clean together while talking about our day.”
The first man smiled.
“That sounds relaxing.”
The third man nodded.
“It is. We’ve learned that marriage isn’t about keeping score.”
“It’s about helping each other.”
The three friends raised their coffee cups.
They all agreed that every family has its own way of doing things, but kindness, respect, and cooperation are what make a house truly feel like a home.
