Two boys were walking home from the village market.
One came from a wealthy family and had spent his pocket money on a bag of delicious honey cookies.
The other boy didn’t have much money. All he could afford was a simple piece of bread.
As they walked, the rich boy happily enjoyed his cookies.
The poor boy smiled and quietly ate his bread.
After a while, the rich boy noticed his friend looking at the cookies.
Without saying a word, he broke one in half and handed it over.
The poor boy’s eyes lit up.
“Thank you,” he said with a grateful smile.
The two boys sat beneath a tree and shared the snack together.
The rich boy laughed.
“You know, cookies taste even better when you don’t eat them alone.”
The poor boy nodded.
“And kindness makes even a simple meal feel like a feast.”
Years later, both boys had grown up, but they never forgot that afternoon.
Whenever people asked them about their favorite childhood memory, they both gave the same answer:
“It wasn’t the cookies that made the day special.”
“It was sharing them.”
