The Farmer’s Horse

A farmer had a horse and a goat.

One day, the horse became seriously ill, so the farmer called the veterinarian.

The vet examined the horse and said,

“Your horse has a virus. He needs this medicine for three days. If he doesn’t improve, we’ll have to put him down.”

The goat was listening nearby.

The next morning, the horse still couldn’t stand.

The goat encouraged him.

“Come on, friend! You have to get up!”

The horse tried, but he was too weak.

On the second day, the goat said,

“Please, get up! You can do it!”

The horse tried again, but still couldn’t stand.

On the third day, the horse finally managed to stand.

The goat became extremely excited.

“Come on! Walk! You can do it!”

The horse slowly took a step.

Then another.

The farmer saw him and was delighted.

“He’s getting better!”

The goat jumped around happily.

“Great! Now run!”

The horse started running around the field.

The farmer was so happy that he decided to celebrate.

“We’re having a party tonight! Let’s prepare a feast!”

The goat suddenly became nervous.

The horse looked at him.

“What’s wrong?”

The goat whispered,

“Nothing… I just saved your life.”

The horse smiled.

“Thank you!”

The goat sighed.

“Just remember one thing.”

“What?”

“Never let me hear the vet say, ‘We’ll have to put him down.’ I’m terrible at keeping secrets.”
