A man and his son were walking through the forest hills.
Suddenly, the boy fell down on the trail and cried out in pain,
“Aah!”
To his surprise, he heard the same voice coming from the mountains.
“Aah!”
The boy looked around.
“What was that?”
“It’s an echo,” his father explained.
The boy shouted,
“Who are you?”
The mountain answered,
“Who are you?”
The boy became angry.
“You’re stupid!”
The mountain replied,
“You’re stupid!”
The boy looked at his father, confused.
“What is happening?”
His father smiled.
“Listen carefully.”
Then the father shouted,
“You are wonderful!”
The mountain replied,
“You are wonderful!”
The boy smiled.
His father said,
“This is called an echo, but it is also a lesson about life.”
The boy looked at him.
“What lesson?”
His father replied,
“Life often gives back what you give to it.”
“If you show anger, you’ll often receive anger. If you show kindness, kindness will come back to you.”
The boy nodded.
Then he smiled at the mountain and shouted,
“I love you!”
The mountain replied,
“I love you!”
The boy laughed.
His father smiled.
“Remember that wherever you go, your actions have a way of coming back to you.”
