Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp za'atar seasoning
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, za'atar, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Step 2: Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture. Ensure all sides are well-seasoned.
- Step 3: Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in a baking dish.
- Step 4: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear when pierced with a fork.
- Step 5: Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the chicken.
Notes
- Store leftover Za'atar Chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat to prevent drying out, or crisp it up briefly under the broiler.
- Serve this flavorful chicken over fluffy couscous or quinoa, adding a vibrant contrast in texture and taste.
- For extra citrus zing, zest half the lemon before juicing and sprinkle the zest over the chicken before baking.
