Ingredients
- Mushrooms (cremini or white): 1 pound
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel, then slice them into approximately 1/4 inch thick pieces.
- Step 2: Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 3: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and begin to brown. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 4: Add the minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the mushrooms.
- Step 5: Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and the mushrooms are nicely browned and slightly tender.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover fried mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results when reheating, sauté the mushrooms in a pan with a little extra butter until warmed through and slightly crispy.
- Serve these savory mushrooms as a delightful side dish or as a flavorful topping for steak or pasta.
- Don't overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed to ensure the mushrooms brown properly instead of steaming.
