Ingredients
Scale
- Chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) 2 lbs
- Garlic 6 cloves, minced
- Butter 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Olive oil 2 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Step 3: Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Step 4: Stir in the lemon juice and parsley.
- Step 5: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over the chicken. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors.
- Step 6: Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or vegetables. Garnish with extra parsley, if desired.
Notes
- Store leftover Garlic Butter Chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results when reheating, add a splash of chicken broth to the pan while warming to keep the chicken moist.
- Serve this flavorful chicken with a bright, green side like steamed broccoli or asparagus to balance the richness.
- To prevent garlic from burning, add it to the melted butter *after* removing the pan from the heat for 30 seconds, then return to the heat.
