Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (such as Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch thick fries
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (190°C). In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, and ginger (if using).
- Step 2: Add the apple fries to the bowl and toss gently to coat them evenly with the flour mixture.
- Step 3: Drizzle the olive oil over the apple fries and toss again to ensure they are lightly coated in oil. This helps them crisp up.
- Step 4: Arrange the apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Work in batches if necessary.
- Step 5: Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer and the thickness of the fries.
- Step 6: Remove the apple fries from the air fryer and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftover apple fries in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 3 days.
- Reheat leftover fries in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through and crispy again.
- Serve these warm apple fries with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a delightful sweet treat.
- For extra cinnamon flavor, consider sprinkling a little extra cinnamon sugar over the fries just before serving.
