Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/4 cup walnuts or almonds, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Step 2: In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Step 3: Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), and salt.
- Step 4: Fold in the chopped dried cherries and nuts.
- Step 5: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For best flavor and texture, store your Cherry Garcia Fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- If you prefer a softer fudge, let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- Serve this decadent fudge with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat!
- Be patient when microwaving; overheating the chocolate can make the fudge grainy, so stir thoroughly between each interval.
