- 1 pound green beans, trimmed and halved
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup sliced turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup French fried onions
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: Steam or boil the green beans until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
- Step 3: While green beans cook, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked turkey bacon.
- Step 4: In a large bowl, combine the cooked green beans, onion/bacon mixture, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir well to combine.
- Step 5: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with cheddar cheese and French fried onions.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in the microwave, covered, to prevent drying out.
- Serve this casserole as a comforting side dish with roasted chicken or pork.
- For extra flavor, try using smoked cheddar cheese in the casserole.
