Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chicken pieces and toss to coat evenly.
- Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
- Step 3: Pour chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Step 4: Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened.
- Step 5: Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or your favorite side dish.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in the microwave or skillet, adding a splash of broth if needed to prevent dryness.
- This Black Pepper Chicken is fantastic served over creamy polenta for a comforting and flavourful meal.
- For extra depth of flavor, marinate the chicken in a little extra olive oil and the spices for 30 minutes before cooking.
