Ingredients
- Lo Mein Noodles: 1 pound
- Beef Sirloin Steak: 1 pound, thinly sliced
- Soy Sauce: 1/4 cup
- Oyster Sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar: 1 tablespoon
- Sesame Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Mixed Vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bell peppers): 2 cups
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Toss with 1 teaspoon of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and remaining sesame oil. Set aside.
- Step 3: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Step 4: Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
- Step 5: Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Step 6: Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the skillet and toss to combine everything evenly. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results when reheating, add a splash of water or broth to the Lo Mein to prevent it from drying out.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for extra flavor and visual appeal.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when stir-frying the beef; cook in batches if necessary to ensure even browning.
